Crocodile Pie, A Children’s Bookstore is located at 866 S. Milwaukee in Libertyville and offers the broadest selection of children’s books and related gift items in the Chicagoland area. Our kid-friendly atmosphere and clearly-defined book sections by age and/or subject invite all to come in and browse, sit on our gigantic stuffed crocodile, and participate in any of our numerous activities.

Established in 1989, we believe in delivering the best, whether it’s putting into your hands the latest book release or re-introducing you to a favorite classic. Ultimately, our friendly and knowledgable staff will help you find the right book for the right person. With our wide-ranging assortment of gift items, we can also accessorize the book, giftwrap it and ship it off anywhere in the country.

We work closely with teachers and schools in the Chicagoland area, helping them organize school visits with local authors and ordering books for classroom needs. We offer teachers a 10% discount on all items in the store and extend a 20% discount to institutions using purchase orders. 

For the convenience of our customers, Crocodile Pie is open seven days a week:

Monday - Friday  9am - 6pm
Thursday   9am - 8pm
Saturday   10am - 5pm
Sunday   Noon - 5pm

Located within Cambridge Plaza in charming Libertyville, we have ample parking and stroller-friendly facilities. Numerous restaurants are just steps away, making it easy to grab a bite before or after your visit to the store.

And we give you lots of reasons to drop by. Storytimes are now three days a week:   

Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays 10:30 - 11am

Selected readings are for children ages 2-6. There is no charge or registration required for our storytimes. Simply come when you can.
